Pleated cartridge filters are the primary filter media in cartridge-style dust collectors. When differential pressure across the filters climbs and pulse-jet cleaning no longer recovers airflow, it’s time to replace the cartridges. Running worn cartridges increases fan load, reduces collection efficiency, and risks dust breakthrough.
