Industrial Mist Collectors for CNC Machining & Manufacturing
Oil Mist and Coolant Mist Control at the Source
Industrial mist collectors capture oil mist, coolant mist, and cutting fluid smoke at CNC machines before contamination reaches the breathing zone or coats shop surfaces. We supply and support multiple product lines matching the right technology to your machine type, fluid chemistry, airflow requirements, and budget.
Who This Is For
Mist collectors are the right solution any time a machining or finishing operation is generating airborne oil, coolant, or chemical mist that reaches workers or shop surfaces. Common applications we see in Indiana facilities include:
- CNC machining centers running water-soluble or straight oil coolant
- Screw machine shops with high mist volume from multiple spindles
- Grinding operations generating fine coolant smoke
- Hard chrome plating, anodizing, and electroplating lines with regulated mist
- Any shop dealing with oily floors, coated surfaces, or OSHA air quality concerns
Problems This Solves
- Eliminates airborne oil mist and coolant mist before it reaches the breathing zone
- Reduces slip hazards from mist settling on floors and walkways
- Prevents mist from coating electrical components, machine surfaces, and inventory
- Helps meet OSHA air quality requirements for machining and metalworking environments
- Controls hexavalent chromium and other regulated emissions at the source for plating and anodizing lines
- Recovers coolant fluid back to the machine reservoir, reducing coolant consumption

Mist Collection at the Source
Oil mist and coolant mist from CNC lathes, mills, and grinders coat machines, create slip hazards, and damage electrical components over time. Source capture pulls contaminated air directly from the machine enclosure before it disperses into the shop.
AGET’s MISTKOP® collectors draw contaminated air through compressed fiberglass coalescing media. The mist is captured and drains back to the machine’s coolant reservoir for reuse. For operations generating both chips and mist, the DUSTKOP Chip-Mist series adds a cyclone pre-separator ahead of the coalescing stage.
- Fluid Types: Straight oil, water-soluble coolant, synthetic coolant, cutting fluid smoke
- Airflow Range: 150 CFM to 2,000+ CFM depending on model and configuration
- Filtration: Compressed fiberglass coalescing media; fluid drains back to machine
- No Spinning Filters: Eliminates vibration and filter imbalance problems common to centrifugal designs
- Chip-Mist Models: NM push-through and SNM pull-through series with integral cyclone pre-separator
- Mounting: Machine-mount (standard), inverted floor-mount, ceiling-suspended
For chrome plating, anodizing, or any application generating hexavalent chromium mist, the AGET MISTKOP is not the right tool. Those environments require
CECO HEE-Duall. Their HEXmaster® and HEPA-HEX™ mist eliminators are built in corrosion-resistant FRP and PVC, EPA performance tested, and specifically rated for hexavalent chromium capture.
CECO HEE-Duall: Mist Elimination for Corrosive & Regulated Applications
- Fluid Types: Chromic acid, sulfuric acid, alkaline mists, nickel, cyanide, phosphoric acid, oil mist
- Technology: Composite mesh pad mist elimination: no spinning parts, no coalescing media to degrade
- HEXmaster® Model: 3-stage dry scrubber upgradeable to wet scrubber; handles oil mist and alkaline applications
- HEPA-HEX™ Model: EPA performance tested and guaranteed for hexavalent chromium; meets current federal emission standards for hard chrome plating and anodizing
- Construction: Corrosion-resistant FRP and PVC throughout
- Hood Systems: Hoods, ducting, and push-air systems available for complete enclosure capture
Additional Mist Collection Technologies We Supply
For high-efficiency mist elimination, corrosive mist applications, hexavalent chromium control, or combined fume and mist systems, we also supply
CECO HEE-Duall mist elimination systems and additional manufacturers depending on application requirements.

When a Mist Collector Is NOT the Right Tool
- Dry grinding or dry machining dust – If your operation generates dry particulate with no fluid involvement, you need a dust collector, not a mist collector. Mist collectors are designed for liquid aerosols, not dry dust.
- Welding fume – Welding fume is sub-micron combustion byproduct, not mist. A mist collector will not capture it effectively. You need a dedicated weld fume extraction system with the right filter media.
- High chip load without a chip-mist model – Standard coalescing mist collectors will plug quickly if chips are entering the airstream. You need the AGET Chip-Mist series or a cyclone pre-separator ahead of the collector.
- Hexavalent chromium or acid mist with a standard coalescing unit – The AGET MISTKOP is not rated for corrosive or regulated chemical mists. Chrome plating, anodizing, and acid applications require CECO HEE-Duall FRP construction and EPA-tested media.
- Very high volume multi-machine central systems without engineering review – A machine-mounted unit handles one machine. Pulling multiple machines into a single central collector requires duct design, CFM calculations, and proper static pressure sizing. Do not guess on this.
